Believed to be taking flight in the DC sequel of 2019’s iconic Joker film, Lady Gaga is said to portray Harley Quinn. Not only did this feature bring a billion dollar box office success, but it also awarded Best Actor Oscar to Phoenix for his portrayal as the Joker himself!
Five years after the first Joker film was released, Warner Bros. proudly announced that its sequel – ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’ – will be arriving on October 4th 2024. Shortly thereafter, Lady Gaga’s involvement in the anticipated movie was confirmed; a rumor that had been circulating for some time now!
Phillips is back once again to pen the script and direct this sequel, with Phoenix returning as Arthur Fleck/Joker. This time it’s reported that Joker: Folie à Deux will be a musical – an exciting twist from the original movie’s grittiness!
Just a few weeks back, James Gunn and Peter Safran announced their highly-anticipated plans for the reestablishment of DCU with Chapter One: Gods and Monsters. Phillips’ Joker film will be distinct from this main universe as well as Matt Reeves’ Batman trilogy. We can’t wait to find out what surprises are in store!
