Jennifer Hudson is pitching for a New Daytime Talk Show associated with Warner Bros. studios
The Oscar winner, Jennifer Hudson, is pitching for a new daytime talk show from Warner Bros. The new talk show is reportedly conceived to be the stand-in of the studios’ much-appreciated, “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”
Jennifer Hudson’s new talk show-A replacement for the Ellen show?
“American Idol” Jennifer Hudson is eyeing the new daytime talk show produced by Warner Bros. studios. Now that the comedian Ellen DeGeneres announced that she will be ending her talk show in 2022, the show’s team is now working on a new one.
Hudson, recently seen as Aretha Franklin in “Respect,” will allegedly host the upcoming talker. Only after an extensive review, the studios have taken Jennifer Hudson, who also showed a keen interest in the project. In fact, her experience in the unscripted genre (Idol, U.S., and U.K. versions of The Voice) makes her perfect for the job.
However, neither Hudson will be a replacement for Ellen, nor her talk show will be an extension of Ellen’s talker. Hudson’s daytime talk show will be a totally “new” series produced by the team of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” from Warner Bros Unscripted Television in association with Telepictures.
Warner Bros new daytime talk show to begin after “Ellen” ends its run
Recently, the executive producers of “Ellen” Andy Lassner and Mary Connelly taped a test show with Hudson as a host on the “Ellen” stage, which is now being pitched to several station groups. Moreover, Warner Bros. Studios is in plans to commence the show around next year’s fall, after the ending of “Ellen.”
Despite the prevailing difficult times in the unscripted marketplace, there are big hopes on Hudson’s show. Major NBC stations have previously announced that “Kelly Clarkson” will occupy the “Ellen” slot the next fall. This will provide an opportunity for Hudson’s show. However, it happens only if these stations choose to go for another unscripted talk series.
