Jennifer Aniston opens up about her friendship with her girlfriends telling about an amusing friendship ritual “Goddess Circle”. The actress says that she has been performing the ritual of Goddess Circle with her girlfriends for the last three decades. The ritual aims to promote female friendship and women empowerment.
Talking about the Goddess Circle in an interview with the New York Times, Aniston said that the Goddess Circle is a female gathering where she sits with the closest of her girlfriends discussing life.
The gathering involves women sitting cross-legged on cushions in Aniston’s living room. These women pass “beechwood talking stick decorated with feathers and charms” setting an intention. Aniston said that the gatherings take place typically around major life events in her or her friends’ lives. She had the Goddess Circle around both her weddings to Brad Pitt as well as Justin Theroux. They also have the ritual when any of her friends have a baby.
Talking about the Goddess Circle, Aniston said, “The intention of a circle is to have a nurturing, non-judge mental place where women can be vulnerable and support each other while also enjoying fun and spiritual rituals together”.
The latest Goddess Circle Aniston had with her friends this year in February when she turned fifty. Modern Mystic C. Ara Campbell says that she is the founder of the ritual. Campbell on her website wrote that the Goddess Circle, “is dedicated to reclaiming the powerful feminine energy found within and surrounding us all; to embodying and living your truth and your highest purpose”.
Earlier in 2018, Aniston had told media that friendship has always been an important part of her life. Aniston counts Courteney Cox, Reese Witherspoon, Chelsea Handler, and Lisa Kudrow, among her closest friends.
