Jaden Smith is an American singer, rapper, songwriter and actor. However, he is now like a superhero for the residents of Flint, who were striving to get pure water.
It was 2014 when Flint changed their water source to river according to CNN. A corrosion control agent that was designed to fight lead somehow failed to be applied into pipelines. Due to this, lead deposits increased to dangerous levels causing extreme degradation of water quality. The water turned to Brown colour and had poor taste. This was reported by the residents.
This continued for the rest of the year. In August, the city announced that the water contained fecal coliform bacterium. It was advised to boil the water.
EPA declared in September that the water was tested positive for ‘total coliform bacteria.’ EPA stated that “The presence of this type of bacteria is a warning sign that E. coli or other disease-causing organisms may be contaminating the water.” However the problem didn’t end here. Flint continued to experience multiple water problems in the past five years. ABC news stated,”the worst man-made environmental disasters in U.S. history.”
Looking at this, Jaden Smith got down to work. Jaden is always concerned about the safety of our planet earth. He made an innovative plan to help the residents of Flint.
Jaden provided the town with four water boxes that were made by his own technology. These water boxes purify water at a super fast rate. The city is grateful to Jaden for his help. Jaden is also looking forward to partnerships that will bring awareness about water problems. Along with this, he is working with the movement Kind Humans to bring a change all around the world. Kind Humans also stated that they are honoured to team up with Jaden.
Jaden is an inspiration for the people to change and save the world.
