The American Political thriller(Designated survivor) that glued fans to its brilliant storyline is in the clouds of smoke. Designated Survivor’s 3rd Season released on Netflix on 7th June. The expectations of the fans from the 3rd Season were, very high but unfortunately, it failed to deliver. The reason mostly anticipated by fans was the shortening of Season and the change of writer.

It’s very disappointing that our beloved political drama will not be able to end President Kirkman’s story. Netflix has officially canceled the series on 24th July 2019. The chances of getting picked up for the third time are too bleak. Kiefer Sutherland, (President Kirkman) shared an emotional video on Twitter on 25th July 2019. In that video, he thanked everyone for their support and stated that the 3rd Season is the Final Season. In an interview with Scala, shortly before the cancellation. Sutherland said that he doesn’t think that Season 4 is coming. According to Sutherland, Netflix gives freedom, but the complication of contracts is a big problem.

Designated survivor Season 3 controversy
Designated Survivor Season 1 and Season 2 were, more than a treat for fans and everyone was very excited for 3rd Season. However, suddenly ABC canceled 3rd Season on May 11, 2018, due to poor ratings and overbudget production. Considering the fanbase for the series, Netflix picked the series on 5th September 2018. Although Netflix picked up the series, it reduced the Season for ten episodes and took many actor’s jobs. It resulted in poor content and a distorted storyline of Season 3. According, to sources Netflix struck an only 1-year deal with the cast.
