Idris Elba‘s wife Sabrina Dhowre recently spoke against the criticism that has been directed towards Harry and Meghan Markle.
The private jet row started when the Duke and Duchess took four private jet flights in just 11 days amid their frequent highlighting of environmental issues.
Sabrina appeared on Good Morning Britain as a guest entertainment presenter.
The model came to the defense of her friend and former Suits star saying that the royal couple had no choice but to take a private jet. This step was taken as flying on First Class put them at risk of fans asking for selfies.
She also attended Prince Harry’s wedding to Meghan at Windsor Castle last year.
Furthermore, Sabrina asked if there is an alternative. To which, the presenter Richard Madeley claimed that the use of Elton John’s private plane risked coming off as ‘hypocrisy’.
The newsreader on the show, Sean Fletcher, said famous people risk being ‘mobbed’ by fans at airports. To which, Richard suggested they fly first class.
Actors face tough situations while traveling, says Sabrina
Sabrina replied, “If only it was that easy”. Richard further pointed out that it surely can’t be difficult to fly in luxury.
Sabrina said that there are instances where even “TSA (Transportation Security Administration) people stop you for photos.”
In addition to that, she said that airports can be ‘absolutely ridiculous’ especially when Meghan and Harry travel with baby Archie.
Mrs. Elba recommended that the Duke and Duchess could carbon offset to make up for the footprint of flying.
Carbon offset refers to the reducing of emissions in certain places to make up for emissions elsewhere.
Meanwhile, Sabrina will be filling in for Entertainment Editor Richard Arnold on 22 and 23 August this week. She is set to bring viewers all the latest showbiz gossip.
