Hoda Kotb and Joel Schiffman break up
The 31st January episode of Today show revealed a news which was very much unexpected to say the least. The host Hoda Kotb made an announcement that she and her fiance Joel Schiffman have called it quits.
Hoda and Joel dated for 8 long years and got engaged in November 2019. However, after the breakup the duo chose to move on as friends. Furthermore, they have made a decision to co-parent their two little daughters- 2-year-old Hope and 4-year-old Haley.
“It’s not like something happened”- commented Hoda
The 57-year-old TV personality shared that nothing dramatic happened between her and Joel. She further added that she and Joel decided to start the new year on their new journey. On this new path, both of them will be loving parents and friends to their wonderful children and.
The I’ve Loved you since Forever author expressed that relationships are present for a reason, a season or an entire lifetime. And she felt hers was meant to be there for a season.
Hoda further commented that a lot of women will relate to these times where their path in life are changing. She said she feels very brave and it’s okay to be honest.
Kathie Lee Gifford offered her support to her former TODAY co-host
With reference to the breakup announcement, 68-year-old Giffors showered her support for her ex co-host. The Then Came You actress expressed that she was proud of Hoda and the way she handled such a difficult situation with grace and kindness.
Kathie added that she wished for God’s blessings on her former co-star, her children and Joel as they move ahead in this new journey. “I love you”- Gifford said in conclusion.
Schiffman and Kotb had to postpone their wedding after their engagement due to the COVID pandemic. According to the latter, the decision to separate was mutual.
