Until now it has released only one season with eight episodes. The series was adapted for a second season before the premiering of the series in 2018. It will also contain eight episodes. There were also many rumors and mixed reviews regarding the cancellation of the show after the airing of the first season, but the show has not been canceled yet.
The show will return again with the collective efforts of HBO and BBC together. No official date for Season 2 has been announced yet, but it is expected that it will release in November of 2020. There is a new cast who is Andre Scott who plays the role of Colonel John Parry added to the series.
The second season is expected to follow the second novel of Philip Pullman’s titled ‘The Subtle Knife.’ In it, Lyra and Will meet each other in another world known as Citagazze.
