Birds of Prey has added a new member to their women-centric squad, they’ve welcomed Harley Quinn. This newly revamped squad has Huntress, Cassandra Cain-the “kid” (yeah, you’ll hear that a lot in the trailer with the characters reiterating that multiple times!), Black Canary and Renee Montoya. Considering how popular, the character, Dr Harleen Quinzel became post The Suicide Squad, we totally had it coming. Well, Birds of Prey focuses more on Harley’s story. It sheds light on what happens after her break up with the Joker. She embarks on a quest to prove that “she’s more than just a lady joker.”
DC’s Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey finally got the much anticipated Honest Trailers, the Screen Junkies’ testimony. Unlike most of the Honest Trailers, Harley Quinn: The Birds of Prey wasn’t roasted that bad but it has made some relevant points. The Honest trailer gave a very material review of the movie’s trailer.
The Honest Trailer begins with, “In a world where Warner Bros. wishes Jared Leto never existed..in fact, where all of Suicide Squad was a lie; Forget it ever happened…” -TOTALLY. It has applauded the “awesome fight sequences” ( shrewdly drawn an analogy between Beyonce’s Lemonade rampaging sequence and the fight sequences in the movie).
Now, this might come as a shocker but the Birds Of Prey scores low on teaming-up and this is the main concern. It has also pointed out that other characters haven’t been given enough room as the focus has remained on Harley Quinn primarily and not the squad in general. Moreover, R rating the movie might not have been the best decision because it will surely filter out a large fraction of the youth which in turn may affect the box office collection!
