‘Harry Potter’ star Daniel Radcliffe was taken for shock after he was offered $5 from a stranger in NY who thought he was homeless.
Daniel spoke about this incident on BBC’s The Norton Graham Show. Rather than getting surrounded by fans, he was handed out a bill of $5 in New York City. Radcliffe had been touring the Big Apple with his girlfriend, Erin Darke, and their dog when he was taken aback by the stranger’s gesture.
The actor told that he was on the street with a dog and his girlfriend was in the shop, and it was very cold. “I had my fleece hoodie and then a big coat over that and the dog was really cold, so I was like, ‘I’ll just kneel by you and stroke you to try and keep you warm'”, he said. Radcliffe continued that then he saw this guy who looked up at him like 10 yards away and smiled. The man walked about five steps past the actor and then just reappeared with a $5 bill over his shoulder and saying, “Get yourself a coffee, mate”.
After the stranger offered him the cash, he asserted that he needed to get a shave asap. Daniel Radcliffe, 30, usually stays low-key owing to his rise to stardom and fame from such a young age.
He explained that when one starts acting at a young age, people expect them to be a total [expletive] all the time, and that’s kind of the expectation that one sort of always find oneself coming up against.
Daniel was joined by Miriam Margolyes, 78, on the how. She had done a lot of Harry Potter films together with Radcliffe. Miriam threw around witty jokes towards Daniel. She even said that “his balls had dropped” since she had first met him around 20 years ago.
