Grease: Rise Of The Pink Ladies is the new prequel series coming up on Paramount+
The 1978 musical story Grease has once again bloomed with a prequel this time. Yes, Grease that featured John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John has been picked up as a prequel and as a series this time. Paramount+ would be having the prequel series and it is titled Grease: Rise Of The Pink Ladies.
Grease: Rise Of The Pink Ladies to have new star cast alongside Jackie Hoffman
Paramount+ has already announced that the prequel series has started its production with Jackie Hoffman joining in. The cast that would be joining alongside Jackie Hoffman too has been revealed. Certainly the cast list has Shanel Bailey as Hazel, Marisa Davila as Jane, Tricia Fukuhara as Nancy, Hoffman as Asst. Principal McGee, Jonathan Nieves as Richie, and many others.
Beside this, the prequel series is going to feature some young school girls who would be put to fame by Stockard Channing and Didi Conn. Additionally, the prequel series is going to be set four years ahead to the time period of the Grease movie.
Grease prequel series getting filmed in Vancouver
Well, the upcoming Grease prequel series has already started its production. Certainly as per the reports, the Paramount + series is getting filmed in Vancouver. Also, the time period of the prequel is going to be set sometime around 1954. The series being a prequel of Grease is going to have some musical numbers in it too.
Despite being an old time period themed series, the story would not look outdated. While the release of the Grease: Rise Of The Pink Ladies is yet not announced, it’s assumed to be arriving at the end of this year. The series would initially have 10 episode that would be announced after the production of it gets completed.
