Frontier: Will the Historical Drama be Back with Season 4 or Not?

Netflix’s Frontier is a Canadian historical period drama TV series. It is considered to be one of the most underrated shows. unlike some other shows, Frontier is only co-produced by Netflix and Discover Canada. the series first premiered on November 6, 2016.

The series chronicles the North America fur trade in the late 1700s Canada and showcases the life of Declan Harp(Jason Momoa) who is a part Irish part Cree outlaw working in the fur trade and is planning to breach the Hudson Bay Company’s monopoly on the fur trade in Canada.

The show has Jason Moma as Declan Harp, Alun Armstrong as Lord Benton, Zoe Boyle as Grace Emberly, Breanne Hill as Mary, Greg Bryk as Cobbs Pond, Paul Fauteux as Jean-Marc Rivard and many more as the main cast.

Although Netflix has not confirmed any news regarding the renewal of the fourth season, it was reported by Jason Momoa himself that season 4 is on its way. At the same time, some of the cast members have tweeted that season 4 is not in the works right now.

On 26 January 2019 in an Instagram post-Jason, mentioned about the show and says that there will be a season 4 for Frontier and ended the caption with six words,” Season 4 is gonna get dark.”

Later Jason came up with another post on Instagram saying goodbye to his character- Declan.

Ain’t this confusing?

Though fans would have to leave with this confusion for sometime as Netflix representatives are yet to release a piece of good news for the Frontier fans.

People have been complaining about the show’s inconsistency which raises a question of whether Netflix will fully take over the show’s production or not. With each passing day, it seems that Netflix is not interested in the renewal of the Canadian historical period TV drama. The least we can do right now is pray for the renewal of the series.
