The Fast and Furious franchise has definitely seen it’s a fair amount of plot twists over the years. The franchise has effectively evolved with the years that have passed by in very interesting ways like the Blockbuster spin-off Hobbs & Shaw, and now the series is ready to debut on Netflix with an animated series!
All episodes of the series Fast & Furious: Spy racers will be released on the media platform Netflix on 26 December. The multi-billion Dollar series is executive produced by Vin Diesel, Neal H. Moritz, Chris Morgan, Tim Hedrick, and Bret Haaland.
The franchise is about to debut into the animated TV world with the story of Dom’s teenage cousin Tone Toretto and will be following the path paved by his cousin when he and his friends get recruited to infiltrate an elite racing league by a Government Agency. The racing league is apparently serving as a front for nefarious crime organization called SH1FT3R which is bent on world abomination.
Hedrick (Dream Works Voltron Legendary Defender) and Haaland (Dream Works All Hail King Julien) will be serving as the executive producers and showrunners of the show. Diesel, Moritz, and Morgan, who have all served as producers on the live-action Fast & Furious film franchise will also be executive producers of the show.
The lead character in the series, Tone Toretto, will be played by the Teen wolf series heartthrob Tyler Posey. It will also include American Vandal star Camille Ramsey playing the role of a notable underground racer who works for SH1FT3R, Layla Gray, Harry Potter star Luke Youngblood as Frostee Benson, a 13-year old tech genius; Charlet Chung will be playing the role of Echo, a wildly talented artist, and natural spy; and Jorge Diaz as Cisco Renaldo, both the muscle and the sweetheart of the crew.
