Evan Rachel Wood makes a major revelation in the Phoenix rising documentary
The Sundance festival 2022 showcased some wonderful projects this year. And among them was the documentary- Phoenix Rising based on the life and career of actor Evan Rachel Wood.
However, the American actress made a shocking accusation in the new documentary which has created a major controversy.
Wood has accused rock musician Marilyn Manson of raping her during the shoot of the music video for single Heart-Shaped glasses in 2007.
Wood calls the environment on the set extremely unprofessional.
The Westworld actress said that she and Manson had discussed a simulated sex scene previously. However when the time came, he actually started penetrating her- which she had never agreed to.
Wood further said she was fed absinthe during the shoot due to which she wasn’t conscious enough to object to what was happening. The Thirteen star further added that she had never been on a set that unprofessional and it made her feel very unsafe.
Evan also said that she had been trained to never talk back due to which she never understood how to stand up for herself. The actress stated she was forced into commercial sex under deception and she was basically raped on camera.
Manson strategically asked Evan to lie in front of journalists.
The 3-time Emmy Award nominated actress revealed that Manson had instructed her to tell the journalists that they had a romantic time on set and none of those scenes were true.
Wood was previously in a relationship with Manson from 2007 to 2010. She accused the latter of horrifically abusing her, brainwashing and manipulating her into submission.
The rock musician has denied the charges. He called them nonsense distortions of reality and added that all his relationships have always been consensual.
A film directed by Oscar nominated Amy Berg, Phoenix Rising will release on HBO in the US in March.
