Dynasty is an American television opera that airs on The CW Television. The show is an adaption of immensely popular ABC series of the same name that went on air between 1981 and 1989. The show showcases the life of two wealthy families fighting over their fortune and their children.
The season 3 premiered on the CW network on 12 October 2018. After 8 episodes, the show went on a mid-season break in December 2019. The fans are not required to wait for the series to resume anymore. The series will be back on television screens by 17 January 2020.
The show from the very beginning has enjoyed brilliant ratings from the critics and immense love from the audiences. Elizabeth Gillies will be playing the role of the main protagonist, Fallon Carrington, who is an energy executive and heiress to the vast Carrington fortune. Robert Christopher Riley will be playing the role of Michael Culhane. Along with these two, James McKay will be playing Fallon’s gay environmentalist brother.
When some continue to portray the same character, there too exists some who’s the character will be recast. Nicollette Sheridan will not be reprising her role as Alexis Carrington in Season 3.To this she said that she would love to work on Dynasty, but considers spending time with her ill mother more important, and would like her fans to embrace her successor with the immense love.
The drama begins with Fallon expressing her displeasure at her Blake’s engagement to Cristal, who she considers her rival employee at the family company, Carrington Atlantic. Fallon makes considerable efforts to separate her father and her rival.
Though the reboot is based on the original soap opera, it does has certain changes. The original location was Denver, Colorado whereas the reboot setting is in Atlanta, Georgia, unlike the original series which predominantly had white characters, the reboot changes the ethnicity of Cristal and Sammy Jo to Hispanic.
