Number 9 – Tengen Uzui

Tengen Uzui, a former Sound Pillar, is quite an influential character. Afterwards, his battle with the Upper Demon ranks he was severely injured and after the battle he retired. Him being a former pillar speaks so much about his strength. And during the time he was active, his leadership quality was also one of his notable skills.

Number 8 – Shinobu Kocho

Shinobu Kocho, being the former Insect Pillar, lacked the physical strength. Meaning she wouldn’t be able to cut through the heads of the demons in order to defeat them. Nevertheless, she developed a new fighting style of piercing and thrusting in order to compensate. She uses her piercing and thrusting techniques to inject her enemies with poison. Which results in them dying in confusion.

Number 7 – Obanai Iguro

The current Snake Pillar of the Demon Slayer Corps, Obanai Iguro is a disciplined and strict man. Being a disciplined man himself, Obanai often criticised those who don’t adhere to the rules of the corps. In addition, the snake breathing style of Obanai allows him to adopt the techniques of a snake, making him a vicious fighter.

Number 6 – Muichiro Tokito

Muichiro Tokito, the former Mist Pillar of the corps, uses his logical sense to complete his mission. Muichiro has been seen to contradict himself by sometimes acting in an illogical manner. But when it comes to demon slaying he is one of the best. Finally, unlocking his Demon Slayer Mark, Muichiro was able to defeat an upper moon very easily.

Number 5 – Kyojuro Rengoku

Kyojuro Rengoku was known to have insane potential as a Hashira.  He was also Flame Pillar of the corps before his death. Rengoku was always ready to help someone in need. His strength and dedication made him one of the best Hashira. And, he taught by his parents that the strong should always protect the weak. And Rengoku followed that lesson dearly.

Number 4 – Mitsuri Kanroji

A soft, passionate person and the current Pillar of Love. As a demon slayer, Mitsuri defeated many demons in her time. She keeps her thoughts and attitude positive towards those around her. Contrary to her title, Mitsuri becomes very deadly when a demon is present. Furthermore, Mitsuri’s powers increase on another level when she uses her Demon Slayer Mark.

Number 3 – Giyu Tomioka

Disciple of the Sakonji Urokodaki, Giyu is the Water Pillar of the corps. Giyu was able to achieve this position because of his water breathing techniques that he learned from the master swordsman. Also,  Giyu has mastered his techniques and is often able to overwhelm the demons he faces. The Demon Slayer Mark increases his strength and power greatly. It is believed that in time Giyu might become the history’s strongest demon slayer.

Number 2 – Sanemi Shinazugawa

The current Wind Pillar of the corps, Sanemi Shinazugawa is Genya elder brother. Sanemi lost his family because of the demons. Afterwards, he has a strong hatred towards the demons. And doesn’t accept that there is a way the two factions can end this by living in peace. Besides, his wind breathing technique and his Demon Slayer Mark makes him a fruitful demon slayer.

Number 1 – Gyomei Himejima

The strongest Hashira currently is Gyomei. Before all this Gyomei lived his life as a regular blind man with orphan children. A demon attacked him at the temple he and the children used to stay in. Briefly, the demon killed several children which angered Gyomei and resulted in him attacking him.

As a result, Gyomei realized his strength. Even the strongest demons know Gyomei’s strength and his stone breathing technique. With his breathing technique, his strength and Demon Slayer Mark combined Gyomei becomes the most powerful demon slayer.
