Demi Lovato has shared her unedited bikini picture, flaunting and celebrating cellulite.
Displaying bravery and embracing human imperfect perfections, Demi Lovato shared a picture of her in a bikini on Instagram. However, this picture is incredibly distinct from all her previously posted pictures in a two-piece, as the American singer chose to share it without any filters or editing and flaunted her cellulite.
The 27-year-old actress penned down an inspiringly long caption for her 73million followers on Instagram, elaborating on her fears, talking about the body-shaming she was subjected to, going raw and real about the crazy standards of society that she wished to adapt, and emphasizing on ‘CELLULIT’. It is for every person out there who has ever been body-shamed for their appearance.
The Don’t Forget singer wrote that the picture she shared showing her real self; a picture in bikini unedited, is her biggest fear. “And guess what, it’s CELLULIT!” She says that she’s just literally very tired of being ashamed of her body and editing it. Demi confessed that the other bikini pictures that she posted before were edited, and she hates that she did it but it’s the truth and she has accepted it.
She clarifies that she did everything only to make others think that she constitutes ‘their’ idea of what beautiful is. But she’s realized that it’s just not her.
Talking about cellulite, she wrote “This is what I got,” and she wants the new chapter in her life to be about being authentic to whom she is rather than trying to meet others’ standards. Further, embracing her liberated self, she continued that she is unashamed, unafraid and proud to own a body that has fought through so much and will continue to amaze her when she hopefully gives birth one day.
Expressing her delight, she writes that it’s a great feeling for her to be back in TV & Films while not stressing herself with a strenuous workout schedule before 14 hour days, or depriving herself of a real birthday cake rather than opting for watermelon & whip cream with candles. The real cake petrified her and she was miserable on some crazy diet.
In the concluding sentence, she says “Here’s me, RAW, REAL!” And she loves herself. Addressing her followers, she advises that they should love themselves too! Additionally, she writes that she is not stoked on her appearance but she is appreciative of it and sometimes that’s the best she can do. She hopes to inspire someone to appreciate their body too.
