‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ Achieves Another Historic Milestone for BLACKPINK

DDU-DU DDU-DU is Square Up album’s first song and its title track of BLACKPINK. On June 15, 2018, the song and music feature released. It had 142 million YouTube views as of July 5, 2018, became the quickest music video by a Korean pop band to achieve the benchmark.

According to recent new came on September 23 at around 7 p.m. Korean standard time, the BLACKPINK’s “DDU-DU DDU-DU” music video reached 1.7 billion views.

With almost 36.2 million views in the first 24 hours, the video for the song was the most watched video among a Koreans and also the 2nd most seen by any international MV.

June 16, it was officially announced that BLACKPINK had broken the record for the most streamed K-pop girl group music video in 24hrs, with 33 million views. The track was only surpassed in popularity by BTS’s “Fake Love,” which had 35 million views.

In June 2021, 2018 pop song, ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU,’ had smashed another milestone by surpassing 1.6 billion views on YouTube.

Together with setting records with their music videos, BLACKPINK made history with their Square Up mini-album. “DDU-DU DDU-DU” has been the top-ranked single by K-pop girl group on the Hot 100, debuting at No. 55. BLACKPINK became the first girl Korean artist to rank on the Hot 100 while Wonder Girls’ English rendition of “Nobody” peaked at No. 76 in 2009.

BLACKPINK having 61.7 million YouTube subscribers, next to Justin Bieber. They now have 28 recordings all views of 100 million, along with 4 Music videos with one billion views.
With their track ‘Kill This Love,’ they had previously smashed the YouTube record. The song received 100 million views in only two days.

Most recently, BLACKPINK’s member Lisa solo was released. And over the first 24hrs after its debut, ‘Lalisa’ had 73.6 million views and dethroned ME by Taylor Swift.
