Friends is an American television series created by David Crane and Marta Kauffman. This series was aired on NBC from 22 September, 1994 till 6 May, 2004. The series contains total 10 seasons consisting of total 236 episodes. This was a comedy series. Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Mathew Perry and David Schwimmer played the role of six friends and the whole story runs around them. Friends became one of the most successful running television shows of all time.

Recently in an interview in The Guardian, David got criticised for the show. The criticism he faced was about the all white character and dated jokes were present in the show.

David replying to the criticism, said that he don’t care about this matter as all the characters belong to Asia in that series. The story tells you about the sex, protected sex, gay marriage and relationships. He told that his character’s wife also left him and got engaged with his ex- girlfriend.

He further added that it is unfair to expect Friends to meet the cultural standards of 2020 as it was aired in 1994. And in this era there are a lot of problems in many areas which are not picturized. Only a small context can be viewed. And people should watch this show for the perspective for fun and not to criticize it.

He stated in humour that there can be all Black Friends or all Asian friends. And he knew that the show lacks diversity. He also told that his character Ross had dated an Asian American woman, Julie, in the first season and later they included Aisha Tyler, African American woman, to play the role of Charlie Wheeler.

Despite all these criticism, Golden Globe winning sitcom David maneuvered his career between TV and films. And he wants to make assure to readers that he belongs to a family who can afford him private education and he felt the responsibility to family and society to call things out if someone abuse the power.
