Borat 2 will be available on Amazon Prime Video from Friday, October 23. The movie is going to be released on select theatres in the United States, but for everyone else, it’s going to be online. But a temporary restraining order has been issued along with a lawsuit against the film, so the theatrical release will be affected.

Borat 2 will be showing the effects of the Trump administration and Covid-19. The mockumentary will be showing some prominent figures being interviewed by the Kazakhstani news reporter Borat Sagdiyev, played by Sacha Baron Cohen.

The movie has a relatively small cast. Aside from Cohen, there is Maria Bakalova who plays his daughter, and Dani Popescu as Kazakhstan leader Premier Nazarbayev. The movie includes cameos of Vice President Mike Pence, former mayor of New York Rudy Giuliani, and holocaust educator Judith Dim Evans, even though they have appeared without their knowledge.

Evans passed away shortly after production, and the filmmakers (both Oak Spring Productions and Amazon) were sued by her estate, who wanted them to remove her part as the movie allegedly “mocked the Holocaust and Jewish culture.” Their claim was that Evans was interviewed under a false pretext and wasn’t informed that the movie was going to be a comedy satire instead of an actual documentary.
