The Marvel Cinematic Universe fans were dying for a standalone movie of assassin Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow. And their wishes are finally coming true. The Scarlett Johansson starrer movie is hitting the theatres really soon. Moreover, it is also a glimpse of phase 4 of Marvel’s era. According to reports, the franchise will reveal the backstories of some of their favorite characters. It will also bring tons of new revelations. Marvel showed the footage of Black Widow in this year’s Comic-Con and will be the first movie of Phase 4.
Black Widow will hit the screens on May 1, 2020. And Marvel recently dropped the trailer of the movie as well. Social media is going gaga over it. Firstly, let’s have a look at the cast. It is an obvious fact that Scarlett Johansson will return for the role of Black Widow in the movie. Marvel concept artist Andy Park first released a poster on Instagram regarding the first look of the movie. Classic Marvel villain Taskmaster is set to return in the movie. The poster shows Johansson and Taskmaster in a fight which might suggest that it will happen in the movie. Florence Pugh will apparently play Natasha’s surrogate sister Yelena Belova. Rachel Weisz will play the leader of the super spy training facility where Natasha learned her skills. Sources also say David Harbour will play the role of Red Guardian.
Coming to the plot, the movie will apparently take place after Captain America: Civil War. Scarlett Johansson revealed that the movie will revolve more around the flaws of her character and she’s excited for the fans to see that side of her. Cate Shortland will direct the movie Black Widow. Reportedly, Johansson is a huge fan of hers and it was she who pushed Cate to get the job.
