The most-heartbreaking Marvel movie is here

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever had its world premiere last night, and early reviews are out. The rest of us will finally get a clue about the movie, as we prepare to watch it in theatres early next month. But we already know how it’s going to be, with huge potential of breaking the $1.3 billion record made by the first movie in 2018. The movie’s primary premise is to be a tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman, who died of colon cancer in 2020.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever takes us to the high-tech kingdom of Wakanda, which is reeling from the death of its king, T’Challa (Boseman). It’s unclear how Boseman dies in the movie, though many speculate it’s from an illness. In his absence, the kingdom has to come together to honor his memory and protect Wakanda at the same time. Nakia (Lupita Nying’o), Shuri (Letitia Wright), Queen Ramonda (Angela Bassett), Okoye (Danai Gurira), M’Baku (Winston Duke), and Everett K. Ross (Martin Freeman) return in the sequel. They will be joined by newcomers Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams/Ironheart and Tenoch Huerta as Namor, the antagonist.

Apart from T’Challa’s death and the underwater attack from Namor and his army, the story is kept under wraps. Since Black Panther: Wakanda Forever closes up Phase 4 of the MCU, the stakes are clearly high. From the reviews, it’s clear that director Ryan Coogler and screenwriter Joe Robert Cole did an amazing job honoring the memory of Boseman and brought this arc to a satisfying close.

The reviewers said that the movie is a fantastic sequel and really emotional. The movie has an immensely powerful story about moving forward and earned its title. Another review said the movie handled grief, loss and revenge that is rarely seen in the MCU, and the actors bring some of the best acting seen all year.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever releases worldwide on November 11.
