Avengers: Endgame has smashed an all-time record of the box office for a generation now, and Avatar has lost his crown. But James Cameron doesn’t stress because we’re all waiting for Avatar 2. If any, this seemingly futile journey is worthwhile. He said that Avengers: Endgame is evidence that there are people still going to movie theatres.
The aspect that made him most afraid about Avatar 2 and Avatar 3 was that the demand may have changed so much that people who were eager to go and sit in a dark room with a bunch of aliens to see, no longer wanted to see them.
Release date for Avatar 2:
Finally, Avatar 2 will be released (apparently), after being repressed as early as December 2020, on December 17, 2021. As stated earlier, this presupposes that, given the ongoing global situation, the development will continue.
Every other year, up to Avatar 5 every 17 December 2027, a new film will follow. That is the strategy. Looking back, it would seem almost impossible for Avatar 2 to be released by December 2014, and for Avatar 3 to be released by December 2015.
Avatar 2 cast
Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana will be the core cast. Scientific goddess Stephen Lang and Sigourney Weaver are also going to return, despite their death in the first movie.
James Cameron says in a statement about Lang’s character: “We are fortunate to have him back, Stephen was so unforgettable in the first movie. I’m not going to say precisely HOW, but after all, it is a science fiction film, we can do that.”
Kate Winslet is partnering with James Cameron to play Ronal’s role in the Avatar universe. It is her first partnership since the Blockbuster in 1997, where Cameron reveals that they “do everything for 20 years together.”
Avatar 2 Trailer
Cameron was optimistic about how often he will watch the next four Avatar films – all depending on how Avatar 2 does in the box office. We do not have any trailers yet. Cameron promised Avatar 3 in 2023 to reach Avatar 2. Avatar 2 will be released in movies most probably on 17 December 2021.
