Bae Suzy to star in the lead role of the Coupang Play’s upcoming drama “Anna”, along with Jung Eun Chae, Park Ye Young, and Kim Jun Han
Anna is an upcoming Coupang Play’s original drama series. The series will reportedly be Coupang Play’s second K-drama after One Ordinary Day, starring Kim Soo Hyun and Cha Seung Won. The streamer dropped the cast announcement of Anna earlier today.
“Nation’s First Love” Bae Suzy confirmed to star in “Anna”
According to the latest advisory, on October 20, Coupang Play affirmed that actors Bae Suzy, Jung Eun Chae, Park Ye Young, and Kim Jun Han joined the cast for their upcoming drama, Anna. Recent reports said that Suzy, also known as Nation’s First Love, was in talks of joining the cast of the Coupang Play’s new drama. Now that it is confirmed, Anna marks Suzy’s return to the small screen after a break. It is also reported that the filming of the drama has already begun on October 15.
Coupang Play’s upcoming series narrates the story of a woman who ends up living someone else’s life as a consequence of her one small lie. Previously titled The Second Anna, the drama will reportedly have eight episodes. Directed by Lee Joo Young, the series was initially thought to be produced as a film. Coupang Play didn’t reveal a premiere date for the series yet. However, the drama might drop in 2022.
New cast and their roles
As said earlier, Suzy will play the main lead, Yoo Mi, who lies and ends up living someone else’s life. The actress, whose recent works include the dramas, Vagabond and Start-Up shared, “When I read the script, it was like I’d been swept up in ‘Anna'”.
The King: Eternal Monarch actress Jung Eun Chae plays Hyun Joo. Hyun Joo is a lady living her life with superiority and is neither kind nor malice. Moreover, she will have a strained relationship with Yoo Mi. Further, Kim Jun Han of Hospital Playlist will play Yoo Mi’s husband. Finally, Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha’s Park Ye Young will play Ji Won, who is the sole person Yoo Mi trusts.
