Abbott Elementary is returning for season 2
After receiving great success over the first school year, it seems Abbott Elementary is coming back for the second time. The hit comedy series, Abbott Elementary, first premiered in December 2021. And the Alphabet net recently confirmed on Monday that the series has been renewed for a 2nd season.
Quinta Brunson is the creator of Abbott Elementary. A Philadelphia public school is the primary location for the series. The storyline focuses on a group of tutors with different levels of experience. However, all of them share a common goal. And that is to help their students.
The exciting news was revealed via a cheeky letter
ABC made the major announcement on Monday via a very cheeky letter from principal Ava Coleman (Janelle James). This letter started by addressing the faculty and the students. Furthermore, she added that the camera crew she hired thinks that she’s a star, which isn’t very surprising.
The vibe of the letter totally fit Coleman’s role as the inappropriate, self-centred and slightly tone-deaf school principal. She further mentioned in the letter that the team is coming back for 2022-2023 school year.
Coleman also added a link to DonorsChoose organization at the end of the letter. Additionally, this organization supports the educators and the students. They provide them technology, materials and other classroom essentials.
Abbott Elementary has become a top-rated comedy
After the show’s premiere in December 2021, the initial two episodes gathered around 9 million viewers and a 2.93 demo rating. The series continues to grow more and more. Moreover, the recent February 22 episode became its second-most-watched episode till date.
The talented team of cast members include Quinta Brunson, Janelle James, Chris Perfetti, Tyler James Williams, Shreyl Lee Ralph and Lisa Ann Walter.
Abbott Elementary is coming back with new episodes on March 22.
