Filmmaker Ivan Reitman Passed Away At The Age of 76

Ivan Reitman, known for his iconic comedy films in the last 70s and 80s, has passed away on 12 February. He was 76 years old and survived by his children, wife, and grandchildren in Montecito, California.

Reitman’s family confirmed the news of his death to the media. But the cause of death has still not been released.

Ivan’s children Jason, Catherine, and Caroline Reitman said in a statement that their family was saddened by the unexpected passing of the one who taught them to always look for magic in life.

His family proudly said that his achievements and happiness given to others through films live on. The family sought privacy in this grim time and believed that those who knew him through his films would always remember him in their thoughts.

Soon after this news his colleagues and friends started paying tribute to him. Including Ghostbusters (2016) director Paul Feig. He tweeted that he was shocked to learn of Ivan’s unexpected passing. It was an honor for him to work with an experienced man. Actor Kumail Nanjiani also expressed grief over Ivan’s passing.

Reitman’s Personal Life
