Kendall Jenner is confronting allegations of social appointment — once more.
This time around, it’s a ridiculous promotion crusade for her 818 Tequila.
The 25-year-old model is included in the new photographs and video promotions for the brand, recorded on an agave ranch in Jalisco, Mexico, where she set up for business for the new pursuit.
Sharing the substance on her own Instagram page, Jenner made note of the “unfathomable experience I have had hitherto, finding out about this excellent spot, its wonderful culture, and the lovely individuals!”
All through the promotion — which highlights Jenner riding a horse among lines of agave plants and tasting tequila on the rear of a pickup truck — the runway professional wore pants, a rancher cap, and a free cotton shirt over a tank top, a look some have alluded to as “musically challenged” and “traveler stylish.” For some, the look exploited generalizations related to Mexican ranchers.
“YOU’VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME,” tweeted one pundit of the promotion shots. “Leave it to Kendall to be pretty much as musically challenged as could be expected, this is so hostile. Demonstrating that stylish transient laborer search for her tequila image, watch her cry, and say she didn’t know later on for the 100th time.” Another additional, “Me as a Mexican, I’m beseeching you all that live in the US to DO not burn-through Kendall Jenner’s tequila since what she’s doing is called Cultural Appropriation making it hers. Hear us out Mexicans when we reveal to you that this isn’t right. [It] is our way of life and we don’t need a white lady benefitting from our way of life.”
Enthusiasts of Jenner, nonetheless, rushed to safeguard her most recent business, saying men, for example, George Clooney, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, LeBron James, Kevin Hart, and a few others have dispatched tequila brands without being blamed for appropriating Mexican culture.
