Katie Couric is all set to become the first female Jeopardy host

In the Women’s history month, the first female guest host Katie Couric to ever stand behind the podium on Jeopardy. Katie, 64, in a recent interview told us that it’s been on her bucket list to be a part of the gig but that became more special when she got to know that she would be raising awareness and collecting funds for pancreatic cancer research, the same that took her two siblings, the iconic host of Jeopardy, Alex Trebek at the age of 80, last November and her elder sister Emily at the age of 54 in 2001.

In the interview Couric added how she also wanted to spread awareness and raise funds for colon cancer screening as Jay Monahan, her late husband lost his life due to the disease at the age of 42 in 1998.

She also told how the cast and crew of jeopardy did match the winnings of her show for her span of time and thus she was able to contribute a huge amount of money to Stand Up to Cancer and the main focus being pancreatic cancer which is meant to focus on pancreatic cancer research, in the honor of Emily and Alex.

Katie shared her experience over

According to Katie, it was a nerve-wracking experience to be behind the podium and keep the fact that she is never done hosting before. She explained how complicated it is to be behind the podium as there are a lot of things moving which one should figure out on their own and should be ready to be a multitasker.

Even after the challenges, she found being a guest host is quite fun and felt quite proud to be the first-ever female to be contacted for the role. In the interview, she told how great it was to work with the team of producers and how things went smoothly but the void of the long time host is still there.
