Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio shows fun and brightness even at the darkest times

The new angle of Pinocchio is Fascinating

The very latest version of Pinocchio by Guillermo del Toro is out and is the first one to be made with stop-motion, and also the first one to deal with the idea of Pinocchio, a wooden puppet boy who turns into life, was actually had been played by a real-life puppet.

What all the previous adaptations of the Pinocchio world, even with the one from Walt Disney’s 1940 movie, this recent one stands out completely. The movie is from the admiration of Carlo Collodi’s original tale and while maintaining the plot, the story yet still retains its very own identity, as a breath of fresh air.

When a happy carpenter and his 10 year old are enjoying life in their perfectly situated Tuscan mountain village in the period of the First World War, the baby with the name Carlo (which is named after the author of the novel) is bombed while staring at crucifix, as he stands inside the church.

The character Geppetto once gets crazily drunk under the grief he carries. And at that particular night, he decides to nail together a crude, and while the process happening, a thunder strikes and lightning hits his workshop. The puppet he created suddenly comes into life by a blue fairy who happens to have four wings, a tail and blinking eyeballs. Through the main character seems to just be a wooden structure, he is a disobedient boy which turns out to be virtue from which everybody else learns a lot.

The twisted plot shows that with all the significant serious situation, the movie gives a perfect satisfaction for the viewers.

The earlier version of the movie, back in 1940 was quite depressing and traumatic, but this latest unexpected re-creation of the new Pinocchio movie is fun some what in its own way despite all the sadness, which shows how creative working Toro did in this project.

Guillermo Del Toro and co-writer Patrick McHale brought Pinocchio with the same uncanny state of surrealism that made his creepy animated series really interesting to go on.

Guillermo Del Toro’s Pinocchio has released on 9th December 2022, currently streaming on Netflix.
