Episodes 1 and 2 are currently streaming on Prime Video (Spoilers ahead)
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is officially out on Amazon Prime Video, with episodes 1 and 2 released together. The breathtaking series with new characters and familiar ones are already getting a warm reception from fans and critics alike. The story is rich, as seen from episode 1, and is bringing new mysteries. One of them is who the mysterious bearded man from the meteorite could be. Let’s read in detail.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power – Mystery Man
The first episode of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power ended with the aforementioned meteorite hurtling across the sky and crashing into Middle-earth, Rhovanion to be precise. The place is located in The Wilderlands East of the Anduin, where the Mirkwood and The Lonely Mountain shown in The Hobbit are located. The meteorite is discovered by Nori the Harfoot.
The view is shown from the top, and we see the person lying in between the crater, which eerily looks similar to the Eye of Sauron. Whether it is a clever trick by the makers or something entirely different remains to be seen. The series refers to him as “The Stranger,” who is played by Daniel Weyman. Another indication that there is evil surrounding this person is because Nori says the fire gives off no heat. Earlier in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, Galadriel is seen saying that the location they’re in is so evil that their torches no longer give off heat.
The Final Evil Sign
The last straw is when the stranger writes in the dirt, the same symbol for Sauron. Many speculate that it is Annatar, a name that Sauron is known by. Others say it can even be Gandalf, and the clues are just misdirections. In episode 2, The Stranger lets out a loud shout, which shakes the trees and casts large shadows. He is seen speaking in Elvan tongue.
Don’t miss the next episode of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power to discover more clues.
