One of the most popular American thriller television series based on crime has put a hold on its third installment. And the term for which the hold will last is not yet confirmed. The series is an adaptation from a nonfictional book named Mindhunter: Inside the FBI’s Elite serial crime unit. It is written by Mark Olshaker and John Douglas.

Joe Penhall, David Fincher, and Charlize Theron are the producers of the series. And the previous writer who wrote the pilot episodes was Scott Buck but after suggestions from Charlize Theron he got replaced by the screenwriter, Joe Penhall.

Streaming service that telecasts the show is none other than Netflix. The first season of Mindhunter released on October 13, 2017 and it had 10 episodes. And two years later on August 16, 2019 came the second season consisting of 9 episodes. The fans were hoping for the third season to arrive this year but unfortunately it has been put on a hold for now.
Mindhunter revolves around the story of two FBI agents Holden Ford by Jonathan Groff and Bill Tench by Holt McCallany. They have an interview with a psychologist Wendy Carr played by Anna Torv and on that basis they try to understand the mindset of imprisoned serial killers. They then utilize that knowledge to solve the ongoing cases.

The first and second season received a lot of appreciation from the viewers as well as the critics. And they are really excited for the third one. Although the show has been put on hold, fans do not need to worry because the showmakers have decided to run the show for five seasons. Thus, sooner or later season three is sure to arrive on the screens.
