Lucifer is a fantasy comedy-drama TV series that is developed by Tom Kapinos that premiered its debut season on 25th January 2016 on Fox. Later in 2016 the second season was released followed by the third and the fourth season in October 2017 and May 2019 respectively.
It is created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Keith and is based on the DC Comics characters. The series revolves around Lucifer Morningstar a devil who abandons Hell for Los Angeles where he owns a night club and later becomes a consultant to the LAPD.
For the Lucifer fans out there, there is a piece of good news coming up. the how has been renewed for a fifth edition which might be extended for a sixth season too. The showrunners Henderson and Modrovich said they are thankful to Netflix for letting them complete the story of Lucifer.
The show will consist of a total of 16 episodes of an hour each which will be split into two parts with 8 episodes each divided by a small break.
The tenth episode of the season is going to be a memorable one as Lucifer himself will be seen singing and dancing. The episode will be titled ‘Bloody Celestrial Karaoke Jam’. Singer Debbie Gibson will be appearing in the musical episode.
As of now, no official date for the release has been announced, however, the first half of the fifth season might drop somewhere between the spring and the summer of 2020. Keeping the Covid-19 outbreak in mind the date may get delayed further. Production of the show has been halted until the things get back to normal.
The fourth season ended with the devil spiralling through an identity crisis and Lucifer eventually returning to the hell after he was chased down by the demons.
It will be interesting to see how the story gets better in the fifth instalment.
