Recently, Morbius released its first trailer. Sony Pictures seems to expand their own Marvel Universe with the arrival of Morbius the Living Vampire as the second edition of their cinematic franchise.
The trailer included a cameo of the Spider-Man. That cameo was of Tobey Maguire’s Spider-man character from the early 2000s and not of Tom Holland’s version. The Tobey Maguire Spider-Man’s graffiti has “murderer” written over it. However, it might be referred to reveal the end of Far From Home with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man on the run after killing Mysterio.
While Michael Keaton’s Vulture appeared at the end of the Morbius teaser, it is expected that the original choice for the Web- slinger character would be Tom Holland’s current Spider-Man version. But this is not the case here, the friendly neighbourhood hero here is related to an actor who previously played the role.
The Morbius trailer is successful up to its purpose of creating buzz and anticipation among the spidey fans and drop hints about what exactly could be in the cards for Spider-Man.
In the scene where Morbius is wandering around in the prison jumpsuit, a graffiti is seen on the wall. The image is a shot of Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man costume, But not from Maguire’s movie, it is said that the web- slinger’s costume is actually a flipped image from a Spider-Man PS4 game.
The graffiti thing is in reference to the events that happened in Spider-Man: Far from Home. With that, we can say that although the costume belongs to Maguire’s version, it can be said that Maguire’s Spidey incarnation isn’t coming back to take part in the Marvel Universe.
It will be interesting to see Tom Holland’s Spider-Man existence in the Marvel Universe. The movie will hit the theatres on July 31, 2020
