Season one of 7 Seeds is now available on Netflix and its ending easily sets up a second part. Here’s what we know about season 2 of 7 Seeds.
7 Seeds
7 Seeds is a Japanese manga series created by Yumi Tamura. The series is set in a post-apocalyptic future, long time after a meteorite hits Earth and new species have evolved. It follows the struggles of five groups of young adults to survive after they are revived from cryonic preservation. The title comes from these five groups of individuals along with supplies, known as “seeds”, laid down by the Japanese government.
The manga was first launched in Shogakukan’s Bessatsu Shōjo Comic magazine in the November 2001 issue. It was then transferred to Flowers magazine in April 2002, where it continued until the series conclusion in May 2017. The first season of 7 Seeds was premiered on Netflix in June 2019.
Season 2 of 7 Seeds
7 Seeds haven’t been officially renewed for season 2 by Netflix, but there is little possibility that there won’t be season 2. The manga series of 7 Seeds consists of 179 chapters of which only 83 are covered and the remaining will be covered in the future seasons of the series. Season 2 could be released as early as January 2020. At the most, season 2 of 7 Seeds could be back by summer 2020 and we are hoping there won’t be any delays like with the first season.
The 7 Seeds manga series has 35 volumes, consisting of 179 chapters. Part 1 of the anime covered 83 chapters in just 12 episodes which a lot for one season. That’s the reason why lot fans seem to be unhappy with season one. But there is still a lot of material left for a second season. Season 2 would start from chapter 84 onward, and hopefully it will cover less than 80 chapters in it.
