It was in 2014 that Kesha filed a case against Gottwald. She accused him of assaulting her sexually and even abusing her emotionally. The other one, in turn, sued her for breach of contract and defamation. Moreover, he even claimed that the singer falsely accused him of rape so that he could nullify her recording contract.
The singer, on the other hand, claimed that Luke drugged and raped her. She even alleged him in a text message with Lady Gaga that he has done the same with Katty Perry even. But Perry later refused about these allegations in front of the judge.
On February 6, Thursday, the Supreme Court of New York declared that Kesha defamed Gottwald through her actions. The judgment was given by Jennifer G Schecter because there was no evidence supporting Kesha’s allegations. She also rejected the defense assertions by the legal team of Kesha.
The final verdict given by the judge stated that although Gottwald has gained publicity for his talent, it is not subjected to any kind of defamation. Never in his music or at any other place did he inject himself into sexual assaults. It even mentioned that he has never abused any artist in his entertainment industry.
The judge even fined Kesha with an additional amount of $374, 000 along with the back royalty payment to Luke. Dr. Luke is waiting for further trials in which he could prove ll the statements of Kesha to be false. On the other hand, Kesha’s legal team disagrees with the court’s judgment and plans to appeal again.
