Billie Eilish expresses her opinion regarding lies and fake lyrics in the rapping industry. What made her think that? Read to know the full story.
Grammy Awards winner and Teen Sensation Billie Eilish has spoken up on rappers and artists who lie about their lyrics in their songs. The pop-icon believes that there lies a difference in stuffing songs with fakes and writing a story through the song. She says that even though the stories she expresses through her songs may not be real but that doesn’t mean that they lack importance.
Billie says that a lot of her songs have been inspired by the present rapping and hip-hop culture. Her hot-shot song ‘bad guy’ was motivated by J.I.D and Isaiah Rashad’s songs. She brought herself deeper into the genre through her various collabs with Denzel Curry, Vince Stapler and some other rappers.
In an interview with Vogue, the 18-year-old pop-icon said, “Just because the story isn’t real doesn’t mean it can’t be important. There’s a difference between lying in a song and writing a story. There are tons of songs where people are just lying. There’s a lot of that in rap right now, from people that I know who rap. It’s like, ‘I got my AK-47, and I’m fuckin’,’ and I’m like, what? You don’t have a gun. ‘And all my bitches…’ I’m like, which bitches? That’s posturing, and that’s not what I’m doing.”
Due to her intimidating and morbid songs, Elish’s mother even got scared on several occasions. Her mom had to convince herself that it was all creative writing. The artist and songwriter has earned herself international appreciation through her songs and from other global rappers and artists.
Drake even received a lot of criticism for praising Eilish. To this Billie reacted by saying, “Everybody’s so sensitive. A grown man can’t be a fan of an artist? There are so many people that the internet should be more worried about. Like, you’re really going to say that Drake is creepy because he’s a fan of mine, and then you’re going to go vote for Trump? What the fuck is that shit?”
