With the Witcher becoming the most demanded series, it has been renewed for a second season.

The Witcher is an American fantasy adventure drama series based on the book series of the same name by Andrzej Sapkowski. It was originally streamed on Netflix on December 20, 2019. The first season consists of eight episodes.By the end of 2019 the series has become the most demanded and watched series across all the platforms in the world. It is produced by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich. The Netflix has also announced on October 2019 that the series will be renewed for a second season scheduled to be released on 2021 and the filming will be started in early of 2020.
No official date for Season 2 has been released yet but filming for the series has been started. The three main characters of Season 1 will also be seen in Season 2 i.e., Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, Freya Allan as Princess Ciri and Anya Chalotra as Yennefer of Vengerberg. Lauren stated that,”I’m so thrilled. We are able to confirm that We will be returning to the Continent again to continue telling the stories of Geralt, Yennefer and Ciri.

In the end of The Witcher Season 1 it was seen that Yennefer has used fire magic to hold off the Nilfgaard army but in doing so she has mysteriously disappeared. Geralt of Rivia and Princess Ciri had also found each other in the end of the series with her asking Who is Yennefer?
In the second season Geralt will take Ciri to Kaer Morgen, the stronghold of the Witchers as Nilfgaard army continues searching for Ciri. Yennefer will also be seen reuniting with the pair. It is unclear as whether Nilfgaard will attack the Northern Kingdoms first or the Northern Kingdoms will attack the Nilfgaard campaign. The mages if Aretuza may aslo be attacked by Nilfgaardian armies.
