Tommy Hilfiger and Zendaya slay the runway together at the New York Fashion Week 2019

This Sunday (8th of September), Tommy Hilfiger unveiled his latest ready to wear designs at the 2019 New York Fashion Week. The American designer collaborated with the 23 years old Euphoria star Zendaya, for the event at the Apollo Theatre in Harlem.

As the 68 years old stylist Tommy dubs, it was the 70s’ inspired show and names the designs as Tommy×Zendaya fall 2019 collection. This was Tommy’s second collaboration with the actress after their last collaboration in March this year. The earlier collaboration presented bold fashion statements at the Comédie des Champs-Élysées in Paris.

Talking about the collection, Tommy said that the bold tailored pieces are infused with a modern twist that celebrates the strength that comes from fearlessly being ones’ true self.

Many diverse cast models like Grace Bol, Halima, and Winnie Harlow slew the runway, sporting velvet blazers and bootleg trousers, leather platform shoes, snake print pants and dresses, faux furs and more.

Also, Ashley Graham rocked a polka dot dress with velvet platform heels. While the South African model, Candice Swanepoel sported a halter neck metallic jumpsuit.

Various design world elites attended the event, including Gigi Hadid and Bella Hadid. Just a night before the event, the Hadid sisters themselves walked the runway for the Ralph Lauren Fall Collections.

Regarding the event, Tommy added, “It is a goosebump moment for us to become part of the Apollo’s storied history tonight”.
