On My Block’s creators Lauren Iungerich, Eddie Gonzalez and Jeremy Haft have brought cheers to fans by introducing the spinoff series Freeridge. With this exciting news in mind, let us look at what we know about a potential season 2 of Freeridge.
If you’re looking for something lighthearted and full of laughter, then mark your calendar! Netflix will be premiering the first season of Freeridge on Thursday, February 2nd. Don’t miss out – this show is sure to bring all the comedy and warmth back into your life that was found in its four-season predecessor.
Have you binge-watched all of Freeridge’s gripping first season and now find yourself yearning to learn if Netflix has ordered a second season? After the nail-biting way that the initial installment concluded, it’s no surprise why!
Freeridge season 2 status updates
As of today, February 16th 2023, Netflix has yet to make a decision regarding the renewal or cancellation of On My Block’s spinoff series. With this show being so new and not having had much promotion from Netflix thus far it is difficult to predict what their next move will be.
Freeridge has a few advantages that will help production and budgeting. Firstly, it is only a half-hour comedy rather than an hour-long show which makes it cheaper to create. Additionally, the cast features lesser known actors who are not as expensive as more renowned stars. Furthermore, due to its connection with another popular Netflix series and lack of costly CGI or VFX technology needed for filming, Freeridge might be even more successful!
If you’re desperately missing all of the comedy and heart of the original four-season show, Freeridge should be at the top of your watchlist this week. The eight-episode first season begins streaming on Thursday, Feb. 2, on Netflix.
For those of you who have already watched all the episodes available, I’m sure you’re eager to find out if Netflix has ordered Freeridge season 2 yet, especially since the first season ends on a cliffhanger.
The best way to help Freeridge get renewed for additional seasons is by streaming the show in its entirety. For a half-hour show, Netflix will want it to get a strong debut to put it in the Top 10.
Netflix values more than just “hours viewed”; they prioritize completion rates. This means that it’s imperative for most viewers to watch the show in its entirety, otherwise there is a significant risk of the show not getting renewed due to too many people dropping off after only a few episodes.
