The actor has starred previously in ‘Iron Man 3’ and ‘Shang-Chi’
The MCU had officially introduced the multiverse last year, with characters from other universes and timelines making appearances. However, one role sneaks through all this, without needing a multiverse. That is Ben Kingsley, who plays Trevor Slattery, an actor/con-man who has appeared in Iron Man 3 and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. The actor will be returning for the upcoming Disney+ series Wonder Man, as announced by Variety.

Wonder Man was announced back in June this year, and will be helmed by Shang-Chi director Destin Daniel Cretton, who is also assigned as the director of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. Cretton will be writing Wonder Man along with head writer Andrew Guest, and will also executive produce, with chances of directing a couple of episodes.
Ben Kingsley made his debut in 2013’s Iron Man 3 as a failed actor posing as the villainous Mandarin. He later got to assist the real Mandarin’s son Shang-Chi in his own movie which came out in 2021. According to Joe Otterson from Variety, Wonder Man is believed to be a satire of Hollywood, and this can be an appropriate time to bring back Slattery. Being a failed actor himself, he can play a pivotal, yet hilarious role in the series.
Outside the MCU
Ben Kingsley is one of the most established actors in Hollywood, after winning Best Actor in a Leading Role for his iconic performance in 1982’s Gandhi. The British actor also won four Oscar nominations and has been part of cult classics like Martin Scorsese’s Shutter Island, Hugo, and Steven Spielberg’s Schindler’s List.
