American singer, Bebe Rexha turned 30 this Friday on August 30, and the singer decided to do something unique to mark her entrance in the third decade of her life. The ‘I’m a mess’ singer dropped a topless picture on her Instagram feed and released her new single to mark her birthday.
The monochromatic picture she shared for her 9M followers, has the blond beauty putting on a lipstick holding a mirror while lying spreadeagled on the floor wearing nothing except G-string. “This is what 30 looks like. As mentioned in the post, “Not 20 Anymore” is her new single that she released on her birthday. The music video encompasses the idea of inspiring body-positivity. It features 20 other men and women speaking about their life graph in the 20s.
A few days before her birthday, the singer had talked about the ageism she had to face at the hand of a male music executive who targeting her age said that she was getting too old. She further elaborated that the executive went on to attack her by questioning her ways as he thinks her brand is confusing because she’s a songwriter but posts sexy images on her social media which female songwriters of her age aren’t deemed fit to do.
With her new post and song, Bebe Rexha has taken a stand against the years-old practice of ageism against females and indicated that age is just a number. With every year, there are several virtues that a person adapts, as she did; a thought she emphasized upon through her birthday gifts for herself and her fans.
