Warner Bros.’ New Line’s “Mortal Kombat” is getting a fresh batch of actors for the upcoming reboot.
The movie has cast its Sonya Blade and Kano.
According to Hollywood Reporter, The Meg’s Jessica McNamee and Australian actor Josh Lawson are pitched to play Sonya Blade and Kano, respectively.
Additional names include British actor Lewis Tan (Wu Assassins, Deadpool 2) to play a lead role, though the character he will play is still unknown.
However, little is known about the remake of the 1995 classic arcade game franchise.
The screenwriter of the film, Greg Russo promised on-screen carnage and an R-rating.
Since it’s already been stated by other members of the team, I’m gonna put this one to bed. MK WILL be R-Rated and for the first time EVER, FATALITIES will FINALLY be on the big screen (and no I’m not gonna say which ones) You’ll just have to wait for the movie & see!!! 😉 pic.twitter.com/aVTewH4t28

The release date has not been announced as of now. The wait looks longer for Mortal Kombat fans, as the film isn’t expected to hit theatres until March 2021.
