Severe Criticism
Clayton Echard, is a former football player. But he largely became popular because of his appearance on The Bachelor. He was a part of season 18 of The Bachelorette in July 2021. And on season 26 of The Bachelor in January of this year. After his T.V. appearance, he faced severe criticism. This could very well be the reason why he regrets being a part of the show. In the podcast, he also revealed that he didn’t fathom the extent of the backlash.
Why the Backlash?
The 26 year old imagined that the viewers would come to like his personality. However, everyone found something to criticise him for. After the 26th season premiered, Echard, he faced backlash for keeping Shanae Ankney who was accused of making fun of another contestant’s ADHD. But later, he said that he would make a different decision.
Former American footballer, disclosed to Viall, former The Bachelorette star that the experience was not fun. He believes that he caused a lot of damage even though his intentions weren’t bad.
Elizabeth Corrigan, a fellow a Bachelor star, jumped to Echard’s defence. While some other contestants called him out. Echard is currently involved in a lot of drama and hopefully everything gets resolved soon.
