Written by Aneko Yusagi, The Rising of the Shield Hero is a light novel series of the Isekai genre. The novel series was quite popular among the audience. Which led to the announcement of an anime adaptation of the series back in 2017. Additionally, the anime series was produced by Kinema Citrus with Takao Abo being the director.
The anime series quickly joined the list of one of the best anime series of all time. Moreover, at the Crunchyroll Expo held in 2019, the anime was renewed for a second and a third season. The second season for the anime was originally supposed to premiere in October 2021. However, because of the pandemic the anime series got delayed and is now supposed to premiere in April 2022.
A teaser released to calm the fans disappointed with the show’s delay
Fans of the anime were left heartbroken because of the delay as they’ve been waiting for a long time. However, to cheer up their fans Crunchyroll released a new teaser for the anime’s second season on their twitter account. The new footage shows Naofumi and his friends getting ready for the new adventures that lie ahead.
The footage gives a glimpse of the things and problems that Naofumi will have to face. Moreover, it was also revealed that the wait between the second and third season will be shorter. The team behind the anime series are trying their best to shorten the time gap between the second and the third season. Fans of the anime should now be happy and relieved after the revelation.
The unanswered questions of the first season
The first season of the anime ended with fans left with many questions. Therefore, the eagerness of the fans for a second season is understandable. The way the final episode of the first season ended fans were left confused. Fans were left to wonder whether or not Naofumi cares about the family and the little brother. Not to mention that he was a big influence on the brother.
In addition, fans were also left wondering about the level cap in Raphatalia’s world. These are some of the questions fans have in mind which will probably be answered in the second season. The first season of the anime showed Naofumi and his friends getting transported in an online role-playing game. With a second season on the way fans will get to see what happens next.
